C&I Engineer
Ewan is a Control and Instrumentation Engineer with experience across DCS, SCADA and safety‑related automation for large power stations, including UK‑EPR nuclear systems. With a strong grounding in IEC 61513, 61508 and 60880, he specialises in the specification, basic design, programming and validation of electrical, electro‑mechanical and control systems for complex, safety‑critical environments.
His recent work at Hinkley Point C includes commissioning activities for the Temporary Control Room, developing severe accident operator assistance functions, and verifying SPPA‑T2000 emulators through rigorous V&V testing. Prior to this, Ewan delivered Level 1 and Level 2 C&I design changes for fluid, HVAC and nuclear steam systems, authored technical documentation, validated automation logic, and ensured compliance with engineering standards and human‑factors requirements.
With a cross‑disciplinary mechanical and electrical engineering background, Ewan brings strong capability in modelling, simulation, programming and process engineering. He is known for his analytical approach, attention to detail and commitment to delivering credible, high‑quality control system designs for major power generation projects.
